Seminars

Zhonghao (Andy) Li

Senior Manager, F&B Design Services, Greater China, Marriott International

An aficionado for both design and F&B, Andy started his hospitality journey when he decided to attend Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne, amongst applications to art and design university programs. He cultivated his F&B experiences not only through workshops and courses, hands-on internships at Michelin-starred restaurants, but also by participating in high-end catering events (including his own graduation gala dinner), fine dining culinary competitions (4-time leading pastry team) and lectures outside of curriculum requirements.

In 2015, Andy joined the Design Development Operations (now F&B Design Service) team at Marriott International APAC office for his internship, which he found is a perfect match for his passion and academic background. The team specializes in F&B development, and provides expertise in design, operation, sustainability, and technical assistance across the Marriott brand portfolio. By the end of this 6-month stint, Andy was luckily presented a return offer upon graduation. He took the position officially in 2017 and has been with the team ever since.

Andy oversees around 100 projects across the Greater China region, from architectural planning, conceptualisation, design reviews, site inspections to operations onboarding. He also led and participated in various initiatives from select service brand localisations, to reimagining F&B products in premium and luxury tiers. He collaborates closely with multiple disciplines including brand, development, feasibility, global design, operations and asset management to help create the best customer experience possible and ensure a seamless path to performance for owners. Some recent highlight projects that he has been involved in includes Sheraton Lanzhou Anning, the 100th Sheraton hotel in Greater China; The St. Regis Shenzhen Bao’an, with a Cantonese restaurant serving breakfast, and the Ritz-Carlton, Suzhou, where a neo-Chinese style tea house replaces the classic lobby lounge.

Outside of work, you will find Andy constantly exploring local cultures and stories around different cities, visiting up-and-coming restaurants and bars, and joining Les Mills workout sessions.
