Yi Zhang

Senior Vice President – Human Resources, Asia Pacific, Hyatt Hotels & Resorts

Yi Zhang was appointed Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Hyatt Hotels Corporation in the Asia Pacific region in April 2023. In this role, he oversees the entire HR function, including HR strategy, structure, and key initiatives across over 300 Hyatt hotels in the region. He reports directly to Mr. David Udell, the Executive Vice President and Group President of Asia Pacific, while also operating under the global leadership of Ms. Malaika Myers, the Chief Human Resources Officer based in Chicago.

Prior to his current role in Hyatt, Mr. Zhang gained extensive experience as the Regional HR Director at Richemont, a prestigious Swiss luxury group with 20 high-end brands, such as Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Vacheron Constantin. His career also includes serving as CHRO for Opple Lighting, a leading Chinese lighting company in Shanghai and as Global HR Vice President for Value Brands at Schneider Electric, a Fortune 500 company where he began as an intern. Additionally, he held a regional HR leadership role at Tory Burch. Mr. Zhang's extensive background covers HR business partnership, talent acquisition, talent management, learning and development and business/HR transformations.
