Anurag Bali is Director of Corporate Food and Beverage – Projects & Development at Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts and based in the group’s corporate office in Hong Kong.
In his role, Anurag is responsible for restaurant and bar innovations in all new and renovated hotels and supporting food and beverage strategy through his technical expertise, maximising opportunities for return on investment and developing niche market relevant concepts.
Over the years, Anurag has been actively involved in the opening and repositioning Shangri-La hotels in Doha, New Delhi, Bangalore, Hambantota, Colombo, Hong Kong, Taipei and Xiamen, and is involved with upcoming projects at the group’s new properties in Bali, Melbourne, Jeddah, Bahrain and Shanghai.
Anurag has 18 years experience in the food and beverage industry. Before joining the Shangri-La group, Anurag was the executive chef of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts properties in India and Egypt. In addition, he has held leadership positions with Svenska Hotels, Berggruen Hotels, and Taj Hotels.
Anurag has been a featured television host of India’s version of ‘Ready Steady Cook’ a competition series, which aired in different countries about gourmet chefs creating appetising dishes from mystery ingredients.
